FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
PETER THORPE MEMORIAL FUND SEEKS INDIE ARTISTS
TO PARTICIPATE IN "FREE CDs TO INMATES" PROGRAM
[/size]
The Peter Thorpe Memorial Fund, in conjunction with
Chuck Colson's Prison Fellowship Ministry's newspaper for inmates, "The Inside Journal," provides free Christian and positive Country and Contemporary music to inmates, their families, chaplains, prison libraries and resource centers. Through this partnership several hundred CDs by independent artists have been distributed to "Inside Journal" readers.
At its inception, the Fund's CDs for Inmates program provided music by the late Nashville Fats (Peter Thorpe). Soon other artists, including Glenn Kaiser, Steve Rupe, Del Way, and the General Gypsy Carnes also contributed to the program. Now PTMF's inventory includes many dozen artists, as well as voice lessons by Nashville vocal coach Beau Sebastian.
This program, less than two years old, is growing monthly and PTMF plans to increase its inventory to include more Christian Blues, Christian Rock, Positive Country, and Contemporary Christian artists. The Fund is also seeking CDs by clean comics.
For more information on the Peter Thorpe Memorial Fund visit PTMF.org. If you would like to contribute your CDs to the excellent "Free CDs to Inmates" program call PTMF Director Betsy Thorpe at (615) 252-6906.
